Media Numerics presents Independent Gain for RockNet system

Independent gain is a highly desired feature in digital live sound environments (digital mixing consoles in combination with digital audio networks) as an integrated solution, i.e. without using an additional passive splitter.

Frankfurt, Germany, March 12, 2008 --- In analog setups and even with digital mixing consoles where more than one console is required a passive splitter is the most common solution to enable e.g. the monitor mixer and the FOH mixer to independently set the gain to their respective requirements.
Media Numerics presents the feature Independent Gain as a fully integrated solution for RockNet300 audio networks. Independent Gain will be available as a standard and can be used in conjunction with Yamaha digital mixing consoles equipped with RockNet RN.341.MY interface cards and remotely controlled RockNet RN.301.MI microphone preamplifiers.
Independent Gain allows individual gain control for up to 8 (eight!) mixing consoles in a single RockNet audio network.
One of the mixing desks is defined as being the Gain Master Console. This console has access to the analog gain of the RN.301.MI microphone preamps on stage via the embedded Yamaha remote control protocol.
Any other console is a slave to this master console.
All consoles that shall participate in Independent Gain need to have the Yamaha Remote Cable connected between the console and one of the RN.341.MY interface cards.
A change of the gain setting on any console of the network will be automatically compensated by all other consoles no matter if the change is done at the Gain Master Console or a slave console.
Independent Gain can be activated by using RockWorks, the online remote control software for RockNet300. Independent Gain is implemented into the RockNet RN.341.MY Yamaha interface card Edit Preset menu of RockWorks. The Edit Preset menu provides a Group selection field where up to eight groups can be assigned to the respective RN.341.MY cards.

RockWorks can be downloaded for free form the Media Numerics webpage www.medianumerics.com (downloads).
With this outstanding feature Media Numerics again substantiates its claim to provide comprehensive customer-oriented solutions on highest technical level which are easy to use, support the workflow of audio engineers and make their lives easier.
